Here are a few applications which you can use to create a visual presentation. Choose an application (or add a new one) and discuss any or all of these questions:
Knovio™ is a free tool for turning PowerPoint slides into rich video presentations right from your web browser. No fancy hardware or video software needed - just a webcam and microphone.
Prezi is a free online zooming presentation tool. It requires a subscription but since its free once you do that you can start making you presentations. Prezi is very unique as it is based on a zooming effect, you write your information all in the same spot and it can be very neat or all over the place. Then you place frames (which can be invisible, circular, square) around the areas that you want to highlight, next comes the fun part you then create a path from one frame to another. Once you have completed your path you will have a very snazzy zooming presentation. Unfortunately the themes, styles and fonts are quite limited but none the less Prezie has its advantages and it is very easy to use.
Timetoast is a software which you make timelines in. You use it if you want to keep track of something or if you need to make a timeline for class you would use it to track information on something your researching on. The built in templates are the dots that you can add or you can take away and they already have the timeline setup for you, you just have to add the information in. The useful tools in this software is the button that lets you add and take away dots for the points that you want to put in. This software does what it is intended to do because all it is made for is to make a timeline for any purpose. I like how there is already a template in the software you just have to add in the information you don't actually have to make anything from scratch. I think that this could be used in class because if your doing a report about the different times they sent shuttles into space it is very easy to organise or present your ideas on this software.
Keynote
I love to use keynote because keynote has many different effects and they are mostly 3D.
I think Keynote is the best application to make a presentation because it has so many different effects and most of them are 3D and extremely cool. I actually think this is better than Powerpoint. Keynote is a very straight forward presentation tool, it's very easy to use and has a lot of cool affects and transitions. When you open keynote it takes you to a page with multiple different themes for your slideshow, so that whatever you are presenting there is probably the perfect theme for it. Once you choose a theme if you want to have a different theme for each slide you can click the theme button to do so. In your theme there are different layouts of that theme, so you keep the same look while still making it interesting.In your slides you can add tables, shapes, and charts from the Keynote application. If you click media you can also add music files, videos, pictures or podcasts connecting from Garageband, Itunes, Iphoto, Photobooth, or anywhere else on your computer. Keynote is great for making presentations for any occasion, whether its a party, a school project or work, Keynote has exactly what you need. Its great because its so simple, even if you've never used it before it takes almost no time at all to figure it out. That's one of the reasons a lot of people like it better than powerpoint, because it is so easy to use, while powerpoint takes a while to learn how to use properly. The only problem with keynote is if you don't have it at home you cant open it.
Promethean Active Studio
It is like a paper on a computer. With this application, you can write on it by a mouse or you can write with a special pen if you have a board to write on and you can add pictures, sounds, charts on it. It is very useful for teachers because it is almost like a white board.But it is a lot easier because you can change color easily, there is flip chart and you can see MS Office TM documents.
This application is and application to make your own website about anything you want and everybody in the world can see it.I like how there are built in templates where you can make the website look professional and you don't have to start everything from scratch.What is also good about it is that they don't post random adverts that you don't want on them. This could be used if in a project you had to make a website and I would suggest this application.
On Ustream you can watch different a variety of videos like news reports and concerts live on the air. You can do it anytime you want and its a fun way to find cool things to watch that may that be on TV. I definitely recommend you check out this application.
Ustream is used to live stream a video or some sort of event that is happening currently. Although the idea of having to watch something happen the exact same time that it is happening in real life the quality of most of the videos are not and poor plus usually the voice lags towards the picture. I like how many different people on the internet can see what you are doing and not only one person like skype. It could be used if you are stuck somewhere and you need to do a presentation and you could live stream it.
I think that PowerPoint is a very professional way of making presentations because the effects aren't silly, like the letters flaming in. I also think that their backgrounds are more professional because they aren't too busy, they are simple. This application has lots of built in templates, this makes it easier to make presentations because this way you do not need to worry if the pictures are licenced or not. I like the fact that PowerPoint is a fun application to use yet at the same time it makes very professional looking presentations. I dislike the fact that so many conversions need to be done just to get the apple version working on windows. This software has proved to be very handy especially at the moment with our disease presentations, All in all this is a pretty good application.It can be used in pretty much any subject such as Math, D.T., Science and English. It has so many useful tools! I would suggest this to everyone who wants to make a successful sideshow/presentation. I always use PPT because it is such a professional and good app to use.

The templates are great because if you are basing your presentation on a school presentation they have slides that will suite that subject better than some others can. They have templates that suite nature, science and others. Some useful tools in the application are new slides, and all of the inserts I mentioned above, (pictures, shapes, transitions in between slides,tables, music and so on.) also, word art, a type of editing text to make a heading or title big, bold and eye-catching. Yes, i do think the software does what it is intended to do because you can display information neatly and clearly, you can make some fonts bold and more noticeable and you can match the background with the subject. I like every thing that I have mentioned because I sometimes need to make a power point on a school project or even just a presentation on picture with a bit of captions or something. Also, because there is an unlimited amount of slides you can use. With this software I dislike, well what I dislike isn't much to do with the software it has to do with the Clip art, I do not like the clip-art because all of their images are cheesy and their are very few images and they aren't very good. We can use this software in class to show any kind of project to display your work or to explain any for example, to explain a time in history with pictures of this time and explain it on different slides.

I really like how this software is designed to look good for a presentation, you can put in in full screen and you can "turn the page" just by pressing the spacebar. What I dislike about this application is that people think that they can just write complete sentences as bullet points and just read off the board. Some people don't really know how to use it, and it can be hard to learn if you are a beginner. This software can be used in many projects at school, especially if you are presenting something.
